Toronto, ON, January 30, 2005 - Pets Can Stay Canada Inc. announced today that it has partnered with Tourism Toronto on its Get to Toronto winter campaign, which runs from January through April, 2005. The partnership is expected to raise the profile of Pets Can Stay and its certified properties in the Metro Toronto area. Pets Can Stay certifies and promotes accommodation providers that cater to the pet-toting traveller. Andrew English, Director of Business Development for Pets Can Stay, comments, "We are extremely pleased to partner with Tourism Toronto to expand our reach in the country's largest market, and to promote our certified properties and services to tourists."
One million copies of the campaign's Passport to Toronto, containing the Pets Can Stay component of the promotion, will be distributed throughout Ontario and key American markets. The Pets Can Stay - Get to Toronto initiative offers travellers a free travel card, for preferred rates at participating hotels and automatic enrollment into contests and promotions via www.petscanstay.com, when they book their accommodation with Pets Can Stay Travel Services. Additional promotional offers through the travel card include access to travel dollar rewards from the purchase of Pet Plan Cover For Life™ pet health insurance plans. Details on the promotion are available at www.get2toronto.com which is hyper linked to Pets Can Stay's Travel Services website.
Pets Can Stay Canada Inc. is the national certifying and marketing body that has established the standard for accommodation providers that cater to the pet travel market. Through its pet guest policy recommendations, which were developed during three years of research, and a 1 year pilot project with Tourism BC in 2003, Pets Can Stay guidelines ensure that the properties that welcome pets are safe and enjoyable for all guests and staff. The research and pilot project also revealed that travelling with pets is no longer a niche market; but is the fastest growing segment of the Canadian travel market.
Pets Can Stay Travel Services™ is a full service agency that provides direct bookings to Pets Can Stay certified properties across Canada at no cost to the traveller. PCS Travel Services is rapidly becoming the agency of choice for pet-toting leisure travellers, and corporate travellers that are loyal to properties that accept pets.
Pets Can Stay has established strategic partnerships and relationships with pet industry leaders and tourism and accommodation associations. Pets Can Stay Advisory Board Members include Tony Pollard (President & CEO, Hotel Association of Canada) and Louis McCann (Executive Director, Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada), in addition to several representatives from pet, equine and tourism organizations at the national, provincial and municipal level.
