Protecting the privacy and the confidentiality of our customers' information - over the Internet, on the telephone, or through our offices - is fundamental to our way of doing business at Pets Can Stay Inc. We operate on the basis of a Privacy Policy that guides the collection, use, distribution, storage, and destruction of the personal information you entrust to us.
We have developed this policy in accordance with the new Personal Information Privacy Protection Act (PIPA) which became law in Canada on January 1, 2004, and in order to demonstrate commitment to protecting the privacy of our customers, partners, and potential website visitors. This policy is consistent with the current requirements under Bill C-6 (Personal Information Protection & Electronic Documents Act) and Bill 44 (Personal Information Protection Act)
This policy deals only with personal information handled by Pets Can Stay Inc (hereafter referred to as 'PCS'). Personal information identifies a specific individual but excludes business contact information.
The following explains how PCS handles your personal information. PCS reserves the right to change this policy and may update it from time to time. These changes may affect the use of your personal information. Therefore please check for changes on a regular basis.
PCS is accountable for all personal information under its control. PCS' Privacy Officer, Scott Beddall, is responsible for the PCS privacy policy and may be reached at:

Any questions about PCS' handling of personal information should be directed to the Privacy Officer.
The purpose for which PCS collects personal information will be identified at or before the time the information is collected. PCS may collect personal information for the purposes of:
- Administering PCS travel requests, newsletter subscriptions, and Preferred Traveller Club benefits and member services
- Registering for PCS promotions and events
- Registering pet service providers with PCS
- Participation in various PCS programs and;
- Processing and administering the above, or other purposes as necessary
PCS will not use personal information for any purpose other than identified at or before the time of collection.
PCS will seek consent for all personal information we collect, use and/or disclose prior to or before the time of collection.
If you have voluntarily provided information, you have consented to the collection, use and/or limited disclosure of your personally identifiable information as described in this privacy policy.
As required by law, PCS will not use your personal information for any purpose other than that for which you have consented. Should PCS require personal information for a new purpose, we will contact you to seek consent for the new use.
PCS does not collect, use or disclose personal information on individuals except when those individuals give consent and provide the information on a voluntary basis. There may be occasions where more specific personal information is required for us to provide you with specific information, product or service. In such cases, we will provide you with a description of the information we need.
In all cases, PCS limits the amount and type of information collected to only that which is required to provide the individual with the requested information, product, or service. We collect only information that is voluntarily provided by you and undertake to ensure that such information will be kept strictly confidential.
We retain personal information only as long as is necessary to provide the individual with the requested product, service or information and delete or destroy this information as appropriate to do so.
In some cases legal reporting requirements as well as operational needs necessitate that PCS retain information for a specific amount of time. In general, under these circumstances, PCS retains privacy information for not more than 3 years, or as required by law.
PCS does not sell or trade any personal information with third parties. PCS may transfer information to service providers where information processing is outsourced by PCS in the course of its administrative procedures or customer services in specific cases.
Where personal information is transferred to a service provider for processing, we require the service provider to respect this Privacy Policy and we restrict them from using or disclosing personal information transferred to them for any other than the provision of services to us.
Any personal information that PCS retains is kept in such a manner as to ensure its security and confidentiality at all times
PCS respects the privacy of our members, partners, potential website visitors and internet users, and will protect that privacy as vigorously as possible. We store personal information in electronic and physical files that are secure.

- Computer System Firewall
- Password Protected Employee Files
- Virus Protected Software
- Others
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us electronically. This is especially true for information you transmit to us via e-mail. We have no way of protecting that information until it reaches us. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best efforts to insure its security on our servers.
PCS makes every effort to keep personal information as accurate, complete, current and relevant as necessary for the identified purpose. PCS does not routinely update personal information.
PCS makes its Privacy Policy readily available via www.petscanstaytravel.com and in written form upon request. Any questions about the handling of personal information by PCS can be directed to our Privacy Officer.
At the written request of an individual, he or she may view or edit their personal information as collected and currently stored by PCS. PCS will inform them of what personal information we have, what it is being used for and, wherever possible, to whom it has been disclosed.
There may be exceptional circumstances as provided by law under which PCS may not be able to give an individual access to the personal information about her or him held by PCS. In this case PCS will explain the reason for this lack of access, as provided by Bill C-6 (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act) and Bill 44 (Personal Information Protection Act).

In your letter please specify the following information: your name, complete contact information, , business or organizational affiliation, and the nature of your request, including whether you wish to edit or simply view the information, or inquire as to the use and/or disclosure.
PCS will reply to your request within 30 days after receipt of the request, or if we are not able to respond within this time period, we will send you a notice of extension. If we are not able to disclose all the personal information we hold on you, we will give you a reason for our inability to do so, unless prohibited by law.
