"A Place in the Sun" is a classic, mid-century, old Palm Springs style inn resting on over an acre of lush lawns and gardens. This garden hotel was originally built in the early 1950's as a retreat for the production crew of the film classic "A Place in the Sun" starring Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters and Montgomery Clift. Old Palm Springs style with modern updates such as high speed wireless internet access, 20-year pillowtop mattresses, and saltwater pool & spa. Incredible views, fragrant gardens and a great south-end location. Located just south of downtown Palm Springs, it is just a moment's drive to a great selection of shopping, dining, theatre and nightclubs.

Seventeen single-story bungalows form an enclave around the sparkling, heated salt-water pool and jacuzzi. Lavish continental breakfasts are served on season weekends poolside, in the gazebo. Pastries, muffins, fresh fruit and coffee are available every day in the office. The one bedroom bungalows are like a home away from home. They have fully-equipped kitchens, living rooms with high wood beam ceilings and lots of glass for great views, separate bedrooms, and private garden patios. They also have individual air conditioners, private telephones with data ports and voice mail, and unlimited, free high-speed wireless internet access! The 2 bedroom/2 bath bungalow is 1,300 square feet! It has a large kitchen with pass-through counter to the dining area, fireplace, and private jacuzzi. For the price conscious, check out our standard studios - a room with a fully-equipped kitchenette, bath with shower, and small private patio. All rooms have 50-channel t.v.'s with vcr and dvd player (bungalows have additional t.v.'s in all bedrooms). There's also a full library of books and movies available for check-out in the office, free to our guests.

All of our rooms are non-smoking. Each unit has its own private patio where smoking is allowed.

One unique feature of this property is a soft-water saline pool and jacuzzi. This natural alternative to "pool chlorine" chemicals offers our guests the luxury and the natural healthy benefits of swimming in crystal clear, mild salt water (only half as salty as your own tear drops). No more red eyes, green hair or irritated eyes or skin. It is environmentally positive and ecologically sound - most or all of the regular chemicals dumped into pools eventually end up polluting our environment in one way or another. This system uses only pure, natural salt - and recycles that salt continuously.
