Letter to the Editor - Are Lodging Establishments Taking Advantage of Travelers with Pets?
Dear Pets Can Stay,
I've just "stumbled" across your site and I'm pleased to see that you're offering this kind of service. I really could have used this kind of service 3 years ago when I did a road trip across North America with my 2 Standard Poodles!!
I'm noticing a disappointing trend however and I'd like to share this with you. It was a lot less expensive to travel with pets then and once I figured out which hotel/motel chains were reasonable it wasn't difficult to find places to stay across the continent. Now, it doesn't seem like there's been a huge increase in options and it's become quite expensive. I understand that businesses need to make money and I agree that there should be a user charge for the privilege of travelling with your pets, but there are some things that are unreasonable...

Wellington's Blog - Travel Tails From a Mischievous Spaniel
 ... It was one of those stunning late winter days that we all dream of while bundled in our beds listening to the sub-arctic wind howling through the trees. The sun was making its glorious reappearance against a clear blue sky. As an added bonus for us dogs, there was even the faint smell of spring in the air and the gentle oozing of mud in the paws.
It was not difficult for Foster and I to convince our owner, Nancy, that such a wonderful day should not go by without a long walk [oops – “staff meeting”] at the local leash free park. This particular park is every dog’s dream. There are meadows to run in hills to climb and best of all a creek to splash in!
